The PU-2000 is a multi-capability Processing Unit intended for use as a Symbol Generator and Graphics Processor in both new and retrofit EFIS installations. The unit is designed to supply Barco’s CHDD-2000 or any other digital input display with high-criticality data, such as PFD, MFD or EID, as well as various formats of analog video.

Thanks to its highly flexible, modular design, the PU-2000 can also be used as a common computing platform in a large variety of functions, with or without graphics capability: mission computer, customer-supplied or Barco-developed single software platform, etc.

The use of MOSArt (Modular Open System Architecture For real time avionics applications) allows the PU-2000 to host different criticality level software applications. It enables customers to develop internally proprietary and closed applications without any involvement from Barco, in separate partitions on the hardware platform.
The PU-2000 is designed according to DO-178B and DO-254 requirements (up to Development Assurance Level A).
